Yuri Averin

Yuri Averin

Yuri Averin was born in 1989. He lives and works in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, Russia.

Yuri's journey through the world of'art began in the early 2000s with the making of traditional graffiti. In his work on walls, Yuri explores abandoned industrial buildings. He creates art by following the principle of harmony between art and the surrounding spaces. Through his experiences, Yuri's style developed into complex themes and forms, and this is how the abstract language of Yuri's works developed.

As in a spiritual quest, the artist meditates shapes and colors in order to find the ideal combinations that would transform his abstraction into a work of art. The artist immerses himself in his abundant reading in order to express his feelings in his paintings, constructed by concentration and the magical process of clearing the mind. His painting is a breath that is released from the canvas in the search for harmony and the balance of an incessant movement. He uses his entire environment, people, emotions and nature, to interpret abstract symbolism. Its geometric patterns provide a glimpse of the link between the world of the senses and that of the unconscious. Through its sacred forms, Yuri's works give birth to encrypted stories, in which the artist creates his own language. Yuri Averin's world suggests inner dreams and never ceases to refer us to the experience of immateriality.

Yuri Averin creates different types of works using different techniques and materials: mural painting, installation, painting, sculpture and graphics. The first solo exhibition of his works took place in 2016 at the artist residency Jardin Rouge, in Marrakech, Morocco, where Yuri presented the works from his “Totemism” series.

Yuri Averin then participated in the following artistic events: Collective exhibition “Constructure” at the gallery Not a Gallery (Paris, 2018), collective exhibition Mister Freeze (Toulouse, 2017), group exhibition “Wall elements 2” (Saint-Petersburg, Russia , 2018), group exhibition Dynamics at the Anthony Roth gallery (Paris, 2019).

Yuri's works are also found in various collections of'private art in the United States, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, Morocco and Germany.
