Entitled “Juntos”, which means “together”, the work is part of the project to promote urban art “Conversas na Rua” (“Conversations in the street”), calling for unity, respect and tolerance in these difficult times.
In its recognizable style, Add Fuel reinterprets the language of Portuguese pewter-glazed ceramic azulejo in a new way by mixing traditional decorative elements with contemporary visual codes. The complexity and mastery of the fresco has a deep contextual symbolic meaning. As the artist describes it: “In a multicultural city like Amadora, JUNTOS calls for unity in a visual composition of multicultural, aesthetic and chromatic influence, which wants to celebrate the diversity of races, cultures and skin colors that make the world even more beautiful.
